OUR STORY
- Kasmirana began in the saffron fields of Pampore, Kashmir – where our family has been connected to saffron cultivation for six generations.
- We grew up watching our elders harvest saffron at dawn, thread by thread, flower by flower. We saw how much love and labour went into every gram. But we also saw something else – how the market was filled with diluted, dyed, and fake saffron that was being sold as “Kashmiri” to unsuspecting buyers.
- That’s when Kasmirana was born. Not as a brand, but as a promise: to bring you the real thing, straight from the hands that grew it – with nothing added, nothing removed, and nothing hidden.
WHY WE STARTED?
- Over 70% of saffron sold in India is either adulterated or artificially coloured. Genuine Kashmiri saffron is mixed with Iranian imports, dyed corn silk, or safflower petals – and sold at premium prices to people who trust what they buy.
- Meanwhile, the farmers in Pampore – the ones doing the real work – are paid a fraction of what their saffron is worth, because middlemen control the supply chain.
- Kasmirana exists to fix both sides of this problem. We buy directly from farming families at fair prices. We test every batch in an independent lab. And we deliver it to your door with a certificate of purity you can verify yourself.
